Apply to the Markham-Stouffville Youth Council
Do YOU want to want to have a say in Ontario’s government?
If you are interested in learning how government works, and in sharing your thoughts and ideas with your Member of Provincial Parliament Paul Calandra, the Markham-Stouffville Provincial Youth Council could be the right place for you.
The Youth Council is an opportunity for youth across the riding to provide feedback and input to MPP Calandra on how the Ontario government can better serve them. The Youth Council will give interested young people the chance to develop their research skills, better understand how the Government of Ontario works, and understand the relationship between the government, their local representative and other community stakeholders.
Membership on the non-partisan Youth Council is open to students from Grades 9-12 living in Markham-Stouffville with a passion for community involvement and service.
As a member of the Markham-Stouffville Provincial Youth Council, you will:
Five meetings are scheduled to be held in the riding over the course of the 2019-20 school year; additional activities may also be developed depending upon interest and opportunity.
