  • COVID-19 Update (June 19, 2021)

    For Pfizer/Moderna mRNA vaccines:

     

    Individuals aged 12 and over in 2021 across Ontario are eligible to book a COVID-19 first dose vaccine appointment through the provincial booking system and call centre, or directly through York Region Public Health. 

     

    Individuals 70+ or those who live in York Region and received their first dose of an mRNA vaccine on or before May 9, 2021 are eligible to book their accelerated second dose appointment through the provincial booking system (for Cornell Community Centre), through York Region Public Health, and through participating pharmacies. Primary care providers will be reaching out to book appointments.

     

    As of Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., individuals in York Region who received their first dose of an mRNA vaccine on or before May 30, 2021 will be eligible to book or rebook their second dose appointment at a shortened interval.

     

    Starting the week of June 28, 2021, all Ontarians aged 18 and over who have received their first dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine will be eligible to book their second dose appointment. The appointment will be scheduled at least 28 days after the first dose, per the recommended interval.

     

    Individuals may choose to return to the same place they received their first dose or book an appointment at a different site or channel. Second doses can be booked without a first appointment using the provincial booking system.

     

    AstraZeneca Recipients:

     

    individuals who received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine are eligible to book their second dose appointment at an interval of eight weeks or more with informed consent.

     

    Individuals who wish to receive an mRNA vaccine for their second dose can book an appointment through the provincial booking system, through public health units that use their own booking system, or a participating pharmacy.

     

    For individuals who wish to receive second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, individuals can contact the pharmacy or primary care provider where they received their first dose.

     
    For individuals who still have a red and white health card and for those who require assistance, please call the Provincial Vaccine Information Line number at 1-888-999-6488.

  • Meet Paul

    Paul Calandra is the Member of Provincial Parliament for Markham-Stouffville. Before being elected to the Ontario Legislature in 2018, Paul was a Federal Member of Parliament, elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2011. As a member of the Ontario Legislature, Paul serves as Government House Leader. Before entering public service, Paul was a small business owner and insurance broker.

     

    Paul is a community advocate in Markham-Stouffville. He often highlights the sacrifices others make in building our community, including honouring local veterans and community volunteers. Through Hockey Night in Stouffville, Paul helped raise over $350,000 to support mental health initiatives at the Markham-Stouffville Hospital.

     

    Paul lives in Stouffville with his wife Melanie and two daughters Natalie and Olivia.
